CFA New Complex

Wesleyan University, Spring 2014

A design of a new building to Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts, containing a print gallery, art library, artist-in-residence studio/apartment, café, and sculpture garden/event space. Design goals included preservation of green space and circulation through the site.

My design features a S-shape singular building that divides the programs according to the publicity and privacy of the spaces and forms two semi-open courtyard spaces.

The second floor is the gallery space focuses on a continuous circulating experience.

The café and event space faces towards the main CFA whereas the artist studio/apartment situates in a more private side.
